Scientists Craig and Allen are preparing for the first human tests of a machine that’s designed to stop death. As they approach completion, the moral and ethical questions surrounding the project create a rift between them. With the well being of his daughter on his mind, Craig aggressively pushes for the completion of the project whereas Allen fears its darker potential. With the first human test, they quickly find there are deeper ramifications to tampering with life and death.
